The incident took place around 12:20 a.m., Saturday, July 27, when the caller reported a man was driving a white SUV in the area of Horseshoe and River roads crossing over the double yellow line several times, said Wilton Police Lt. Robert Kluk.

Police located a white 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer parked in the culdesac of Horseshoe Road occupied by Arnaldo Fraccaroli , 26, of Wilton, he said.

While speaking to Fraccaroli a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was smelled coming from his breath, as well as a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, Kluk said.

Fraccaroli admitted to having consumed alcohol prior to driving and said that he had marijuana in the vehicle.

He was asked to perform a field sobriety test, which he was unable to perform to standard. He was arrested and a search of his SUV  revealed one gram of marijuana and two metal grinders containing marijuana.

When Fraccaroli was searched at headquarters officers found a white pill-like object wrapped in plastic located in his front shirt pocket. Arnaldo explained that it was a lollipop that he had gotten from a bank earlier in the day. The substance tested positive for cocaine/crack.

Fraccaroli's BAC was found to be 0.1688 at the time of processing.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia with intent to use, failure to maintain proper lane, and DUI.

He was released on $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 5.
